National Artist of Uzbekistan, full member of the Academy of Arts of Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan, professor, was born in 1946 in Tashkent. In 1966, after graduating from an art school in Tashkent, he entered VGIK in Moscow, studied with famous artists of Russia - National Artist of the USSR Yuri Pimenov, National Artist of the RSFSR Ivan Petrovich Ivanov-Vano, Honored Artist of the RSFSR Vitaly Tokarev.
Starting from 1964, while being a student, Umarbekov participated in republican, all-Union and foreign exhibitions. Currently, the artist's canvases are kept in many collections of world museums and prestigious international galleries, such as the State Tretyakov Gallery in Moscow, the State Museum of Art of Uzbekistan, the UN headquarters in New York, the Komatsu Art Gallery in Japan, as well as in the collections of major galleries Germany, Austria, Algeria, Kuwait, etc.
